InterRed CMS

Future-proofing InterRed’s publishing platform through a unified UI, clear governance, and a token based design system.

The Client

InterRed GmbH is a CMS for multi-channel publishing, used by hundreds of customers including major media houses like Springer, Die Zeit and heise online.

Initial situation

The UI and UX standards had grown over many years, resulting in inconsistencies and limited documentation. A clear UX governance model and modern design foundation were missing.

Our contribution

UX/UI audit of key platform areas (editor, print workflows, multi-channel interfaces).

Definition of UX governance (roles, decision flows, review and documentation).

UI redesign in close collaboration with the internal development team.

Creation of a token- and component-based design system as a shared source of truth.

Result

A more consistent, modern UI that simplifies complex publishing workflows.

UX governance that speeds up decisions and reduces friction between teams.

A scalable design system that accelerates feature delivery and reduces maintenance effort.
